Otakon 2011

Welp, here's my annual attempt at an Otakon submission demo. I think this year's went better than year's past, but that's not up to me to be the judge.

Feedback is always appreciated, as I'm always looking to improve.

Note, this demo submission is shorter than previous years, as I am trying to focus on quality, and not quantity. The guidelines were asked to be "about an hour" so I got about that... 57:30.

There was some elements of the Diablo set in here, for those of you who listened to it, or were there. Why should I reinvent the wheel, when I know I have something that works?

Saturday, February 12, I had an hour and a half long session at Club Diablo in Buffalo, NY. Overall, I feel the set went pretty well, it was a dance/dubstep mixture. The crowd was jumping, and I had an awesome time.

Yeah, so apparently I had to re-remaster the UBCon set, so that download link posted from before shouldn't work anymore. Tomorrow, I plan to re-upload it to Last.fm and also update the catalog with all the random practice sets I've done over the last year.

Also, Otakon demo submissions are due Wednesday, so there's going to be a 2010 version for my submission. I know they won't accept me, but I'll just keep trying.

UB Con XXI

So, I ended up running the rave at UBCon 21: Friends in Low Places over the weekend. As requested by a few individuals, I have posted the corresponding link for my 3 hour set.

I listened to it a bit today, and had some troubles with volume normalization, and realized the areas I should have slowed down and worked on a bit more.

Well, here it is. The demo I submitted to try and spin at Otakon. A few hours of work was put into this one (doing this set 4-5 different times), but I'm definitely happy with the results.

The style is a bit different on this one; it starts goa, goes hardcore, and ends with some trance. And don't forget about some fan service, you've gotta have that.

New Mix Is Out

Yep, so I've been practicing again, and after about 5 hours of reworking it, I've tossed together another Otakon Practice Mix. (5 to be exact, but only the second one posted online.)

This one's got a bit of fanservice in it, as Otakon is geared towards the Otaku generation (kids who like anime), so be warned that about halfway through, it'll break into that shit.
